My Bone Marrow Transplant

Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional.

Up to now I have been in preparation mode.

I got my teeth fixed over the past two days as the mouth can be a major source of problems during the chemotherapy; it can cause mouth ulcers and make it difficult to swallow. Luckily I have hyperactive saliva glands so hopefully mouth dryness should not be too much of an issue. On December 1 I stopped taking Sorafenib, the last of the HK prescribed drugs.

Today I start taking Co-trimoxazole (Bactrim) which is to kill off bad bacteria in me to minimise the chances of getting an infection once my immune system is kaput.

The countdown has really started!
