My Bone Marrow Transplant

Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional.

A Happy New Year to One and All
Chris’ blood counts continue to progress well with platelets ascent taking away Chris’ vampire-looking eyes and mouth 🙂 , thankfully.
Last night, I took the children to Mozza Italian restaurant for an early dinner across the Theatre where we watched Wicked at the Marina Bay Sands.  What a great evening we had!  The choice of restaurant was purely accidental and it’s probably the best restaurant that I’ve ever been in Singapore, a must for Chris to visit when he gets his parole.  To cap it all we had the divine and indulgent Picolo Budino Caldo di Cioccolato with candied almonds & Bourbon gelato, much to Sam’s delight.
If you haven’t seen Wicked and you enjoy musicals, Wicked is a Must-See.  The children and I enjoyed it tremendously.  The show finished at 10:30pm and we followed the crowd to the promenade to see the fireworks display at midnight.  The crowd was pretty quiet sans the usual light and sound fun fare in the buildup to the strike of 12.  There was no countdown except for the spot lights that ushered what was a spectacular display of fireworks against the Esplanade and the new Arts and Science Museum from where we were.
We didn’t get back to our apartment until 3am.  With no taxi in sight, we took a bus that started to shuttle people to the MRT station around 2am. It was quite a walk in high heels; nonetheless, we would do it again for a more wicked New Year’s celebration, with Chris the next time around!
A good start of 2012, the children and I went to Mass today to give thanks and to pray for a promising year.
